Karl Lagerfeld as a rapper

Karl Lagerfeld is a design icon in the high-fashion world;designing labels as prestigious as Fendi, Chanel and even an extremely capsule collection for H&M.

He is, to say the least, a fashion “Jack of all trades,” but his latest fashion fantasy caught us all by surprise.

In the September 2008 issue of Harper’s Bazaar, the editors decided to ask designer who their dream personality would be. No one thought Lagerfeld would choose to become a rapper!

I guess Jay Z, The Notorious B.I.G and Talib Kweli were on to something after all.

DrJays.com Debate: Is Cassie the new Aaliyah?

August 24th, 2008 · Filed under Sounds, Style

It appears she’s trying to be.

This is Cassie’s new video for her new single “Official Girl” featuring (who else?) Lil Wayne.

The elements for Cassie becoming a fully-fledged Aaliyah clone are all there: long black hair (covering one eye), bikini tops and baggy pants, soft, lilting voice, and choreographed dance moves.

On the anniversary of Aaliyah’s tragic death (August 25, 2001), we want to know if you think the folks at Cassie’s record label are aiming for Cassie to channel the late, great singer/actress. Is this swagger jacking at its best?

Eve in Fetish

Eve’s signature brand Fetish is now available on DrJays.com.

The fall collection captures Eve’s fashionable look and features dark enamel chains and novelty beading with a touch of patent leather. The first delivery introduces real blacks and bright whites, lilac and mystic grey.

The second delivery, available next month, has a bit of a harder edge with a diva attitude. The signature paws inspiration throughout shows why Fetish is the Pret-a-Porter for the streets.
